About The Client
Ferne Built is a Melbourne residential builder with a body of architectural home projects. For this business, the work itself needed to lead. A visitor should be able to move through completed homes and understand the level of care in the details without being met by long sales copy.
What They Needed
The previous direction had too much generic builder language and not enough room for the photography. Ferne Built needed a portfolio experience that could hold strong project images, show a selected body of work and leave room for project information only where it had been confirmed.
What We Built
We built a photo-led portfolio site that uses project and handover photography as the main content. Full-bleed images, darker interstitial sections and restrained project information give the work room to breathe. The navigation, project pages, about page and contact page all follow the same editorial approach.
As more completed photography became available, we added and updated portfolio pages using handover-day and professional project images. We removed unconfirmed materials, process claims and project descriptions from the public copy.
The Result
Ferne Built has a visual portfolio for completed residential work in Melbourne, with project photography and a direct enquiry route.
